The thin branches of the vines need to be placed in a disciplined manner to maximise air passage and sun exposure. They are lifted and maintained vertically, then separated and placed between two wires, and held in this position with staples.
Flowering occurs in June, and lasts around eight days. Harvesting generally starts 100 days later.
The vines are trimmed several times during summer. Cutting the vegetation and removing regrowths boost the fruiting process and give the grapes as much sun exposure as possible, which is such a crucial element for a good maturation of the fruits.
Soon it will be time for the picking, and all we'll be wishing for is to harvest the fruits of so much labour, before heading on to another year...
